This project funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC), builds on a number of previous ALTC projects exploring the leadership responsibilities of course coordinators and other middle managers in leading curriculum change through review and renewal activities. Through the delivery of tailored support to course coordinators undergoing curriculum review and renewal, this project addresses both the professional development and systematic needs of university administration and managers with responsibility for teaching and learning improvement. One element of the project’s tailored support program includes enhancing the capacity of academic developers to support course coordinators through curriculum review and renewal. As such, this project also responds to continuing debates about the nature of academic development and the role of academic developers in leading systematic change in teaching and learning.
This project is currently being implemented at the University of Tasmania (lead institution), the University of Ballarat and the University of Technology, Sydney. The outcomes and resources from this project will be available for dissemination across the sector in early 2011.
